Deny Norwegian Air International

Hundreds of airline employees, workers from other industries as well as several union leaders came together at The White House to call for the the DOT to halt efforts to offshore the jobs of US airline employees.

Although the DOT has given tentative approval to Norwegian Air International to fly to the US from Europe with their Irish operating certificate which would allow the carrier to avoid adhering to labor standards which all other carriers must abide by.

This is not about helping US airline management. It’s about not trusting them — Gailen David

If NAI is able to gain final approval and compete against US carriers with low wage cabin and cockpit crews, it only be a matter of time before US carriers use it as an excuse to create their own international subsidiaries to compete with Norwegian and begin shipping jobs overseas.
